Pianist Stuart Broomer and drummer John Mars spent at least half of the '70s working in a trio named Broomer, Mars & Smith. Just before 1980, Broomer and Mars left Smith behind to form a duo that they unceremoniously called Stuart Broomer & John Mars. Although Marswas an accomplished singer, he only held the part of a musician in this small assembly. That being the case, the guys brought in a number of gifted guest singers to perform with them.
